When you apologize to someone, don’t you expect them to acknowledge it, at least a little? These two are gunning for each other so hard the apologies just fly by unnoticed. Do you think maybe there’s a reason for that?

EXCERPT

“Whoa there, don’t get all bent out of shape. I’m Clint Travers.” The stranger rested a hand on Hope’s withers. “I run some horses here from time to time. Didn’t mean to impugn your horsemanship, ma’am.”

“Well, fine.” Cassie pushed stray hair from her eyes. “Maybe I overreacted some.”

He ignored her attempt at apology. “So, this is the filly that’s created such a fuss around shedrow.”

“What do you mean? I didn’t know anyone noticed.”

“Not notice! You got to be kidding—or incredibly naive.”

Cassie clenched her teeth and glared at the stranger.

“Strike that last comment,” he said quickly. “I seem to be putting my foot in my mouth.”

“Apparently you’ve a large enough mouth for it to fit, with plenty of room to spare.”

High stakes, a fiery Irish redhead, her stunning racehorse, and a fiercely loyal rancher.

Cassie’s Hope

BLURB

What happens when a fiercely loyal widowed half-Ute cowboy meets a fiery redhead with an Irish temper to match? Cassidy O’Hanlon – Cassie, to her friends – has set aside her Chicago career for six months to train racehorses for her dad after his stroke.

Furious the interloper has shipped in a ringer from the Chicago circuit to his Wyoming turf, Rancher/trainer Clint Travers sets out to put her in her place. Sparks fly immediately, but after their rocky start, the two quickly forge a passionate relationship, and he follows her to Chicago.

When it becomes clear someone is drugging Cassie’s horse, Clint sets out to solve the mystery, but storms off in a cloud of wounded pride when suspicions turn to him.

Can love trump pride?

Here’s more from Riders Up, Book One – think some sparks are gonna fly? Cassie’s prepping her horse for a race at a small Wyoming race track:

EXCERPT

The handsome stranger walked around the horse. “Very nice,” he drawled at last.

Cassie continued grooming, doing her best to ignore the man.

“You’re gonna wear a hole in that horse with all that hand rubbing,” he commented dryly.

Cassie straightened. Her lips flared. Her cheeks burned as if on fire. Her eyes bore into the man. “And just who the hell are you? And what gives you the right to criticize how I groom my horse? I’ve been tending horses since I was big enough to walk.”

High stakes, a fiery Irish redhead, her stunning racehorse, and a fiercely loyal rancher.

EXCERPT

The cowboy stepped closer. Cassie could make out a scowl. Dark eyes snapped a foreboding anger. Raven black hair framed chiseled features, searing them into Cassie’s brain. Her toes curled involuntarily. She rubbed Hope’s coat vigorously. Who the hell was he? And to top it off, he didn’t even seem to notice her. His eyes appraised only the horse.

High stakes, a fiery Irish redhead, her stunning racehorse, and a fiercely loyal rancher.

Nice Lookin’ Filly…#MFRWAuthor #8Sunday #RomanticSuspense

August 20, 2017 by Adriana Kraft

EXCERPT

Shaking her head, Cassie grabbed a hoof pick from her back pocket, lifted one of Hope’s front hooves, and began extracting dirt and pebbles.

“Nice lookin’ filly.”

Cassie groaned at the strange deep voice and the too-familiar line. Couldn’t men anywhere be a little more original?

Dropping the hoof, Cassie glanced across Hope’s back and gasped. The deeply tanned hunk behind the voice had shoulders that stretched taut a pale yellow polo shirt covered, in part, with a thin buckskin vest. The wide cowboy buckle appeared unnecessary to hold up well contoured Levi’s.

A sweat-stained brown Stetson, tipped low, cast a light shadow across his facial features. His worn boots were those of a working man. This was no drugstore cowboy.

About Cassie’s Hope

Did you know that in addition to our steamy erotic ménage romance stories, my husband and I also write romantic suspense? One man, one woman, danger and intrigue – always a happy ending, but oh, what a ride! Our Romantic Suspense line delivers “warmth, blazing hot sex, and well-developed characters” (Romance Junkies Reviews) as our hero and heroine battle outer threats and inner demons to stay alive and fall in love.

We love horses and have, at various points in our life, owned a couple thoroughbred race horses, a quarter horse who didn’t want to race and became a working cutting horse, and an arab/saddlebred who is now a dressage horse. We’ve been to the Kentucky Derby twice, the Belmont Stakes once, and the Arlington Million twice (none of our horses were at that level, of course). We put that passion and experience to work in a four book romantic suspense series set in the horse racing industry, Riders Up! Cassie’s Hope is Book One. The scene above is set at a small track in western Wyoming, where both our quarter horse and one of our thoroughbreds ran briefly.

High stakes, a fiery Irish redhead, her stunning racehorse, and a fiercely loyal rancher.

Addicted – Will Recommend Gladly! #romanticsuspense #MFRWAuthor #Review

Addicted – Will Recommend Gladly!

These are words authors LOVE to hear. Four out of five Bites for The Painter is a Lady from Love Bites and Silk Ties!

“Mystery and romance are woven well in this tale. I got caught up in the small-town gossip as well as the intrigue. Michael is hero worth falling for and Brenda is a heroine who knows what she wants and isn’t afraid to get it. The host of secondary characters also make for an engaging story. Fans of small-town romance or romantic suspense will enjoy this. Happy to recommend.”

Can you tell we’re pretty pumped? This is why we work so hard 🙂 . We totally lost count of how many editing rounds this story went through with our marvelous editor at Extasy Books. The plot is complex, with a lot of twists and turns (it’s suspense, after all), and he kept finding spots where readers might get confused or lost. We’re grateful he hung on through the process.

Secrets. Trust. Courage.

Who will knuckle under first—

the war hero?

The spirited single mom?

Or the former high school bully who still hates them both?

BLURB

When war hero Michael Jarvis returns to his hometown on the shores of Lake Superior, he doesn’t plan to stay—he’s undercover, investigating a possible sex trafficking ring operating on the Great Lakes. But he does want to sample the pesky girl next door he always turned down—and it wouldn’t hurt if she’d clear up a few mysteries of her own along the way.

Successfully established as an interior house painter, Brenda Tower finally has her act together as a single mom—but it hangs by a thread, a secret she’ll guard with her life. The return of her youthful crush Michael Jarvis threatens to unravel everything.

Jealousy has inflamed Brett Hill’s hatred of Michael and Brenda for as long as he can remember. Revenge will be so sweet—and it will fit in perfectly with his high stakes game.

When the secrets break open, can Michael and Brenda find the courage to trust each other, or will revenge and betrayal triumph?

EXCERPT

Hours later, Michael dried the china, crystal and silverware Brenda had brought out for his dad’s birthday party that didn’t go in the dishwasher. Tommy had gone to his room as soon as the others had left. No one seemed surprised that Michael had lingered to help with the dishes. More than satisfied with the turn of events, he hummed a show tune while Brenda fidgeted with the last of the silverware.

Remaining focused on scrubbing a stubborn piece of icing from a fork, Brenda muttered, “You’re making me nervous.”

“What?” He scowled at her profile. “Am I standing too close? Am I humming too loudly?”

Heaving an exasperated sigh, Brenda dropped the fork in the dishwater and turned to face him. “All of the above and much more. You didn’t have to stay behind and help with the dishes. I can do this without you. I have for years.”

“I’m sure you can. But that’s not what’s gnawing at you, is it? I thought you were coming around.” He stared at her through half closed eyelids.

She blanched.

“You’re the one who started the knee play beneath the dining table.”

“I know.” She shrugged, looking lost. “That was my impish clown, I guess. I can’t explain it, Michael. I’m sorry. I dreamed about you for hours on end when I was a kid. I threw myself at you. But you didn’t want me then. I was a fool.”

“Maybe I was the fool,” he replied softly, rubbing the back of his hand across her shoulder.
