Erotic Romance

He knew his place in life… #MFRWHooks #EroticRomance #LGBTQ

March 8, 2023 by Adriana Kraft

What could college English Professor Caitlin Shanahan
ever have in common with the brash carpenter Kurt Davis?
The sexy sprite Meghan Keenan, that’s what.

Welcome to MFRW Hooks, where the authors of Marketing for Romance Writers share snippets from their stories to entice you into wanting more. Be sure to click on the links at the end to travel!

One last week with Seducing Cat before I turn to my upcoming release.

So far the hooks have all come from the opening scene, where Caitlin (Cat) is surreptitiously spying on her young renter Meg as she sunbathes nude on the lawn below. Before we leave this book, here’s a scene from a little later, in Kurt’s point of view.

EXCERPT

Smiling with pride, Kurt stood back, admiring his handiwork. The Mistress of the Mansion had wanted a distinctive gazebo, not a discount special. Well, he’d certainly provided her with that.

He glanced up toward her office window. He’d swear she’d been sitting behind the curtains watching buck-naked Meg fondling his cock through his jeans. Maybe he shouldn’t have stopped Meg. How far would she have gone? He could never tell—she was as unpredictable as the wind currents on Lake Michigan. Meg fit his image of the Irish siren, dancing to a beat only she could hear.

On the other hand, Madam Caitlin Shanahan rarely surprised him. Shanahan’s Irish blood probably never overheated. What would she be like, if she ever did cut loose?

He shrugged. No sense letting his imagination get away from him. If she ever did display a free spirit, it wouldn’t be around him.

That suited him fine. He didn’t have time for uppity, serious women. He knew his place in life. He’d never been handed anything on a silver platter, and he didn’t expect that to change anytime soon.

Too bad Shanahan had beat him to this house. The Mulberry house had always been one of his favorites. He’d hoped to be in a position to buy it one day. That day had still been several years off when he’d heard the English professor had bought it. What the hell did a single woman want with a big old house? Not that he had a passel of kids to fill up the place, either.

BLURB

Levelheaded English Professor Caitlin Shanahan has finally earned tenure and purchased the century-old two-story house of her dreams in the college town of Burntside, Wisconsin—at thirty-four, she’d better face facts: her future is teaching college and writing plays, not falling in love. So why is she so drawn to foxy little hometown actress Meghan Keenan, who’s rented her upstairs apartment, or worse, to the girl’s gorgeous hunk of a lover Kurt Davis, a carpenter who’s never even been to college?

Twenty-year-old Meg has a plan. First she’ll seduce the reluctant professor, then she’ll share her sexual delights with both Cat and her brawny carpenter, and when she’s successfully brought them together, she can make her escape and explore what’s beyond the only town she’s ever lived in.

Kurt can’t stand the up-tight professor who’s hired him to build a gazebo and refurbish her old house—the house he wanted for himself. Even if Meg’s scheme succeeds, he knows Caitlin would never look at him twice. No need to go there in his fantasies…

BLURB

Her passion smolders. Will it ignite?

When art student Melissa Hopkins finally unpacks the two boxes her Aunt Phoebe left for her and sees Phoebe’s black and white photos, it’s like opening Pandora’s Box. A simple quest to find a new job morphs into an about face—not just in her art, but in her career and personal life. Short on funds now that her graduate stipend is ending, she applies to work where Aunt Phoebe once worked: a center for sexuality and sex studies.

Sworn off women after a disastrous relationship, Center Director Harry Gage ignores the danger signals and hires the striking young woman who reminds him of his former lover. Her air of innocence will captivate center viewers, so he’s sure she’ll be a hit on camera. What he’s not prepared for is how she pierces his heart.

When the sparks flare up, is it love or just sex—and what must each of them risk to find out?

EXCERPT

Set-up: This is both Melissa’s first on-camera experience, and her first sexual experience with a woman (even though they never touch each other)

Chewing on her lower lip Thursday afternoon, Melissa fixed her focus on Inez. Thankfully, Harry had come up with this idea for her maiden voyage on camera for the Center. She and Inez were assigned to test a couple new vibrators. They sat across from each other on Set 3 in front of the fake fireplace in easy chairs. That proved easier than if they’d been on the bed. The distance provided a sense of security.

This was only one step—well, maybe several—beyond modeling in the nude, something she’d often done in her art classes. She knew Harry sensed her nervousness and was working with her and Inez to make this as smooth an experience as possible.

“Remember,” Harry said, calmly, “focus on Inez—forget the cameras. Melissa, you are to be Inez’s mirror image. Whatever she does, you do. Okay?”

She nodded her agreement, not wanting to risk uttering a word.

“Good,” he replied. “Go ahead, Inez. Let’s put these gadgets through their paces.”

“No problem.” Inez winked at Melissa and parted the thin pink robe that had provided very little cover. Her dark brown nipples were already hard nubbins. She separated her thighs, displaying a thin dark line of curly hairs leading to a semi-hidden crevice.

Melissa’s breathing stopped. She tried not to gawk.

Inez smiled easily and waited.

“Melissa,” Harry prompted softly.

“Of course,” she mumbled. She parted her own wrapper and seated herself securely on the chair. She appreciated the gleam in Inez’s eyes.

“Splendid,” Inez responded. “We’re going to have so much fun together. I love your trim.”

“Quiet, please,” Harry said, “the tape is running. Speak with your eyes and bodies only.”

Inez picked up the curved blue vibrator sitting on a stand next to her chair.

Melissa reached for the red one at her side.

Once the vibrators were humming, Inez slowly slid hers across her cheek and then down the side of her throat.

Melissa locked her focus on Inez and let the red vibrator energize her cheek and throat.

She’d never used a vibrator with anyone watching. This was indeed different. She couldn’t tell what was vibrating most—the vibrator, or her loins in anticipation.

Inez teased a dark nipple with the tip of the blue vibrator.

Melissa held her vibrator between two fingers and brought its tip to bear on her pink nipple. She gasped and saw Inez smiling knowingly. She watched Inez slide the full length of the blue hummer across her flat belly. Without hesitating, Melissa did the same. Her hips flinched.

A movement out of the corner of her eye caught her attention. She flicked a glance to her left, where Harry was holding a camera. Co-Director Claire Johnson had come to stand by his side.

“Thought you didn’t want to be here,” Harry muttered, without lowering the camera.

“I changed my mind,” Claire said. “Wanted to see how your protégé was coming along. I see I’m not too late.”

And don’t forget the rest of today’s steamy excerpts!

Caitlin could breathe again… #SnippetSunday #SnipSun #Steamy #Romance

March 5, 2023 by Adriana Kraft

What could college English Professor Caitlin Shanahan
ever have in common with the brash carpenter Kurt Davis?
The sexy sprite Meghan Keenan, that’s what.

Welcome to Snippet Sunday – ten sentences from all your favorite romance authors! You’ll find them all at this Facebook Group every Sunday: https://www.facebook.com/groups/SnippetSunday/

This month I’m featuring Seducing Cat, Book one in a series about the modern-day Aphrodite, Meghan Keenan. We’re still in Caitlin’s point of view, peering out from her upstairs window – but Meg and Kurt just walked away from each other…

EXCERPT

At last Caitlin could breathe again. She’d watched the broad shoulders of Kurt Davis disappear into her tool shed, and she’d heard a downstairs door close and now heard Meg climbing the stairs toward her rooms.

What had happened just minutes ago in her backyard? Or what had nearly happened? If she saw it correctly, Meg had been ready to make love to Kurt right on her flagstone patio. But he’d rebuffed her and stormed off to work.

What had they argued about? It amazed her Kurt Davis would ever turn down a woman at any time or place. For a moment, she’d thought he’d spied her behind the curtain, but that wasn’t possible. Of course, if he had, he wasn’t about to wave at her – not with a naked woman in his arms.

Blurb

From the deserts of North Africa to the dark forests in the Third Reich, Tommy Haupner, together with his American lover, Henry “Shorty” Reiter, lead their team in a daring mission to rescue a gifted young savant from Nazi Germany’s T4 euthanasia program.

They are forced to flee in a stolen bus in the dead of night across enemy territory with a precious cargo of 24 handicapped children destined for extermination. In a supreme effort to save their charges and to avoid capture and execution themselves, they mount the most daring and dangerous rescue mission possible, the results of which almost end in disaster.

This third book in The Seventh of December series is an action packed wartime adventure set in the early months of 1942. Stolen aircraft, kidnapped senior Nazi officials, doctors of death and bloody revenge massacres, all of which are intertwined with the love of a helpless, rescued child. “Farewell, My Boy,” deals with not only the frailty of men’s hearts, but the truth that even the bravest are not exempt from the pain of loss, even when it is for a greater good.

Excerpt

Not more than two or three minutes after I’d finished reading what Andrew had sent to me, a voice from behind whispered my name.

“Coco?” I said, turning to see Luc’s anguished face.

“Mon capitain.”

Then he was in my arms, his head on my shoulder, weeping as hard as he had on the night he’d killed his first man in Édouard’s garden, not long after we’d first met him.

“Steve told me,” I whispered against his ear, drawing him into the corner of the hotel foyer and behind a very large jardinière. He wasn’t old enough yet to have any instilled sense of appropriate behaviour when it came to showing emotions in public. Even though he’d been fighting alongside the Resistance since the age of fifteen, it seemed as if there was still a lot of the needy, lonely boy lurking underneath his tough-guy exterior. We’d become close during my time in occupied France last year and he’d “adopted” me. I’d long ago stopped trying to fight it.

“I’m all alone now,” he said eventually, wiping his nose with his forearm.

“Shorty and I are still here …”

“Until you fuck off again and leave me by myself.” He managed a grin as he said it.

“It’s the war—”

“Putain! I know it’s the war, but can’t we just pretend that it’s not happening for five minutes? I just need someone I care about to hold me and to let me behave like a kid again.”

“Come,” I said. “Upstairs. You can tell me all about it.”

“But you’re busy, aren’t you? Gavin told me you were interrogating the German. It doesn’t look like any sort of interrogation I’ve ever been part of.”

“I can’t pick you up any more,” I said, his arms still around my waist.

“I could probably pick you up now.”

“Most likely. Luc, I’m so sorry—”

“I killed him.”

“Killed who?”

“Corporal Löwe.”

“The German with the bladder problem?”

He nodded. “Papa’s body was never recovered, but the town put up a wooden cross in the graveyard for him—I had to go there to say goodbye, despite how dangerous it was. I was about to head back towards La Roche and had got as far as our house, thinking I’d see if there was anything of Papa’s I could take with me as a memory when I saw Löwe throwing all the furniture onto a bonfire. I crept up behind him in the dark and slit his throat, then pushed him into the fire. He couldn’t scream but he thrashed about for a bit.”

He said it just as any man in wartime would speak about the way the men they’d killed had died. Factual, unemotional, as if it was an everyday event. Part of me hated the fact that someone so young could already be so hardened.

“I’ve done worse,” he added.

“You and me both,” I replied then, after a moment or two when we just stood quietly, his head resting on my shoulder, I said, “You’ve got hairs on your chest now.”

He chuckled. “You should see the bushes below.”

“No, thank you.” I tousled his hair, as I’d always done.

“Given it a trial run yet?” Shorty said, coming up behind us.

“Are you serious, mon américain? For French men, it’s a rite of passage. My father couldn’t take me to a brothel on my sixteenth birthday, so Talley accompanied me and sat in the waiting room playing cards with the ladies for an hour.”

“An hour? Was that your first time?”

Luc nodded. “And second, and third, and I nearly managed a fourth.”

Although Shorty and I laughed, it wasn’t hard to see that Luc was putting on a brave face. We’d find time, as we had done on the night I’d said goodbye to him in Bayonne, wondering when and if we’d ever meet again. Damn me if Luc hadn’t crept his way into my heart, in the same way Gladys and Steve had done. Maybe it was fate: we were meant to be lifelong friends … as long as we all somehow managed to survive until the end of the war.

“I think she’ll be fun…” #MFRWHooks #LGBTQ #Menage

March 1, 2023 by Adriana Kraft

What could college English Professor Caitlin Shanahan
ever have in common with the brash carpenter Kurt Davis?
The sexy sprite Meghan Keenan, that’s what.

Welcome to MFRW Hooks, where the authors of Marketing for Romance Writers share snippets from their stories to entice you into wanting more. Be sure to click on the links at the end to travel!

Our Meghan’s Playhouse series actually got its start with a stand-alone novella we wrote as a sexy F-F-M romp, not expecting anything serious to emerge. But given our backgrounds and the causes we believe in, it wasn’t long before things like class prejudice, ageism, and latent homophobia surfaced in some of our characters. A college professor and a carpenter? The situation was ripe for stereotypes, and we love breaking those open!

EXCERPT

“Why would you want to mess around with an older woman?” Kurt paused. “With a professor, for God’s sake!”

“Why not? I think she’ll be fun.”

“Fun. I doubt she knows the first thing about fun. Have you ever seen her laugh? Really laugh?”

“She will with me.”

Kurt his folded his arms across his solid chest. “Do you even know she’s into women?”

“She will be.” Meg cocked her head to the side. “You don’t think I can seduce Cat?”

Kurt exhaled and grimaced. “Hell, you could charm a rock. If you want her, she doesn’t stand a chance. I’m almost sorry for her. But why would you even bother?”

“I like her. She’s bright. She cares. And I’m envious of her tall slim body. Besides all of that,” she flicked her tongue at Kurt, “I want to taste her. I think she’ll be dynamite in bed if we have enough patience with her.”

Kurt’s eyes glazed and his fingers curled at his sides. “We. We?” He shook his head vigorously. “No way, kid. You’ve had plenty of hair-brained ideas before, but this one is in a league of its own. If you think I’m going to help you screw that uptight professor, then you’ve been smoking something you’d better get rid of.”

Meg remained quiet, delighting in Kurt’s obvious consternation.

He paced and kicked at a lawn chair. “When did you cook this scheme up? Why?” He glowered. “No, don’t answer. I don’t even want to hear about it. That tight-assed redhead slaving over her desk upstairs wouldn’t give me the time of day if I wasn’t handy with a hammer.” He smiled devilishly. “But then I wouldn’t either, if she didn’t have enough money to pay me premium prices.”

“Oh, you big, bad boy,” Meg teased, latching on to the front of his open shirt. “I beg to differ. You can’t tell me a virile guy like you has worked on this house so long without having a brief fantasy of fucking the mistress of the house.”

He looked like the kid who’d been caught with his hand in the cookie jar. “Well, not for long.”

“I thought so.” She lowered a hand and squeezed his hardening arousal. “At least I won’t have to assume you’re going brain dead on me.”

“You are a minx.” He brushed his chin across the top of her head.
