Win an autographed copy of Cassie’s Hope #SnippetSunday #MFRWAuthor #8Sunday #SundayBlog

November 24, 2019 by Adriana Kraft

After taking a break, we have a new release scheduled from Extasy Books early next year, so to celebrate we’re giving away autographed print books, one every month. This month it’s Cassie’s Hope, Book One in our horse racing series, Riders Up. Contest link after the excerpt:

Here’s a Sunday morsel for you:

EXCERPT

“You’ll do it then?” Her dad’s voice squeaked.

Guilt, excitement and fear washed over Cassie in such quick succession that she couldn’t sort them out. Was she yielding? Hell, it’d been a done deal before she’d left Hope in her paddock. “Yes, I’ll try. Six months. No more. She is a very promising filly. I still don’t know how we can afford to do this.”

“We can afford it.” Tug’s eyes twinkled. “I got somethin’ else to tell you. Didn’t wanna till after you made up your mind. Didn’t wanna influence you too much…I’ve agreed to sell eighty acres to Mr. Dillingham, who’s been after that land for the last five years. After taxes and everybody’s fees, we should net a little over a million dollars.” Nodding softly, he said, “For once, I think we can afford to chase this dream.”

“Holy shit!” Cassie shrieked. “You did what? Why now?”

“There’s plenty of farm left for horses. Thought maybe I’ve been too stubborn for my own good. This may be my last chance, Cass. Holdin’ on to land is an important principle. But bein’ land poor probably don’t make much sense either. It’s yours, you know. I’m just gonna share some of it with you for awhile.”

“Oh, Daddy.” She bent down and kissed him on the cheek. “I don’t know what to say! We could go out and buy contenders. Horses that could be competitive stakes runners right away.”

“I know that.”

She saw a quick flash of that familiar stubborn streak set deep in his cat-gray eyes.

“Nope. The key is to raise a big horse—not just buy it. Any rich fool can buy into a good racehorse. That’s what baseball owners do when they ignore their farm teams. It takes skill to raise a contender.”

BLURB

High stakes, a fiery Irish redhead, her stunning racehorse, and a fiercely loyal rancher

What happens when a fiercely loyal widowed half-Ute cowboy meets a fiery redhead with an Irish temper to match? Cassidy O’Hanlon – Cassie, to her friends – has set aside her Chicago career for six months to train racehorses for her dad after his stroke.

Furious the interloper has shipped in a ringer from the Chicago circuit to his Wyoming turf, Rancher/trainer Clint Travers sets out to put her in her place. Sparks fly immediately, but after their rocky start, the two quickly forge a passionate relationship, and he follows her to Chicago.

When it becomes clear someone is drugging Cassie’s horse, Clint sets out to solve the mystery, but storms off in a cloud of wounded pride when suspicions turn to him.

Can love trump pride?

Five Stars at Goodreads: “…I took their journey with them. I felt their pain, their sadness, their struggles, and most of all their love. And that is the mark of a truly good book.”  Faith, Goodreads

Out Now! Three, A Love Story #MFRWAuthor #Polyamory #Romance

September 7, 2018 by Adriana Kraft

Ever fantasize about three-way ménage? How about a long-term three-way relationship? Lots of people who end up in a polyamorous relationship never entertained that fantasy – they just suddenly found themselves in love with more than one person and created a way to make it work.

Can it work in the real world? We know it can and does, and that’s the dilemma we handed to Jamie, Susan and Mason in Three A Love Story. Both bisexual and deeply in love with each other, Jamie and Susan have continued to date men casually and even on occasion enjoyed three-way sex.

But what happens when one of those liaisons triggers deeper feeling? It’s not so easy…

Three

A Love Story

just released at Extasy Books!

BLURB

Three lives—but how many loves?

Committed lovers for three years, Jamie and Susan are good together. Jamie knows she wants Susan in her life forever. But what if that’s not enough?

Both bi, the two have continued dating men occasionally, and now Jamie’s falling in love with Mason. Can she love two persons? Will her love for either one wrench the other one out of her life?

Jamie’s convinced a long-term three-way relationship is the answer, but none of the players are prepared for what’s coming. Two-way relationships are hard enough—is a three-way even possible? And if so, what must each of them give up to create it?

EXCERPT

Jamie eyed her partner, waiting for her to awaken. Now was the moment—she couldn’t let the subject wait any longer, even though it put her stomach in knots. Mason Johnson. It was time. Maybe past time. She steadfastly believed everything would work out for the best. Still, what she was about to propose might shake their comfy world a wee bit.

She smiled that her Irish grandmother’s voice had crept into her thoughts. Well, maybe that was why she felt so good about her future—their futures. It might require a bit of the luck of the Irish to pull off, but she just knew it could be done—if everyone simply trusted the process. She had Celtic roots. She had natural red hair…nothing fake about that. She could work her own magic. Couldn’t she?

Jamie grimaced. She wished it was so. But she’d never discovered a magic wand or a book of wizardry that would give her that kind of power. No, if her dream became real, it would require three persons working together.

She blew her waking lover a kiss. It would take three persons playing together, too.

“Hey, you,” she said softly. “Was that as good for you as it was for me?”

Three

A Love Story

available now at Extasy Books

Coming soon to other e-book vendors

A thirty-plus heroine and her real-life connections #MFRWAuthor

March 20, 2018 by Adriana Kraft

Caitlin Shanahan is a heroine in Seducing Cat (Meghan’s Playhouse Book One). She’s thirty-four. Our plot hinges on the fact that she’s finally given up on finding a man and has decided to purchase the house of her dreams—alone.

When this book was first released, more than one reader commented that thirty-four was way too young for any woman who wanted a partner to conclude it’s too late. Maybe that’s true – certainly the age of first marriage has risen in our culture, and lots of women choose to pursue careers into their mid-thirties or beyond before committing to a romantic partner.

Choosing to wait, though, is different from giving up hope, and this is where Cat finds herself. Is that realistic? Where does it come from? The book is a novella, so we didn’t fill much space with her backstory, other than to convey that her efforts to form relationships have been unsuccessful and painful. But one of us knows those experiences at a personal level – I was in my early thirties when my first husband announced he wanted a divorce.

Though I probably never ceased hoping for love at some level, I spent the next couple years believing it would never happen for me. It wasn’t a matter of wanting to avoid pain – I had simply come to the understanding that romantic love wasn’t in my future. I had started to explore buying a condo for myself when I met Mr. Kraft at the university where we were both teaching.

For now, I’ll spare you the details of the one-year-minus-one-day that transpired between our first date and our wedding, though snippets have turned up here and there in our stories. Finding love again later in life is a trope we love to re-visit in our fiction, and so far we haven’t set an upper age limit on who we might write. We have main characters in their sixties, and even secondary characters as old as their early seventies. Love – and hot sex, since we write erotic romance – are possible as long as we live and breathe. And huzzah for that!

BLURB

What could college English Professor Caitlin Shanahan ever have in common with the brash carpenter Kurt Davis?  The sexy sprite Meghan Keenan, that’s what.

Level headed English Professor Caitlin Shanahan has finally earned tenure and purchased the century-old two-story house of her dreams in the college town of Burntside, Wisconsin—at thirty-four, she’d better face facts: her future is teaching college and writing plays, not falling in love.  So why is she so drawn to foxy little hometown actress Meghan Keenan, who’s rented her upstairs apartment, or worse, to the girl’s gorgeous hunk of a lover Kurt Davis, a carpenter who’s never even been to college?

Twenty-year-old Meg has a plan. First she’ll seduce the reluctant professor, then she’ll share her sexual delights with both Cat and her brawny carpenter, and when she’s successfully brought them together, she can make her escape and explore what’s beyond the only town she’s ever lived in.

Kurt can’t stand the up-tight professor who’s hired him to build a gazebo and refurbish her old house—the house he wanted for himself. Even if Meg’s scheme succeeds, he knows Caitlin would never look at him twice.  No need to go there in his fantasies…

Time for a confession #MFRWAuthor #BabyBoomers

January 25, 2018 by Adriana Kraft

It’s confession time.

An author friend posted the question why do you write? on one of our author loops. As I pondered how to answer, I realized it’s so embedded in our own personal story that I couldn’t give a short answer.

Our readers know we are baby boomers. If they’re anywhere close to our age, they also know that midlife can bring a host of challenges in the bedroom. For us, that was complicated by health issues: A heart attack (in his forties!) for him, abdominal repair issues for me. Add onto that the fact I have three stepchildren. From the moment we married until our own son turned 20, I always had at least one teenager in the house. Time for sex? Interest in it? Not so much, for longer than I’d like to confess.

But neither of us was willing to give up. Our parents, it turns out, lived very long lives. Who, at midlife, wants to look forward to three or four more decades with no sex? We started looking for resources and found some great ones. We started watching videos – yes, Those Kinds of videos, in the bedroom, as a prelude to our own activities.

After a while we started saying things like “I’d like that story better if…” and “what would really turn me on is if she…”  As you might guess, we started setting down stories that better met our needs. Gradually we didn’t use the videos so much – we read out loud from our own material.

So why do we write? We want to save the world from boring sex.

Feel free to take a peek at our Swinging Lifestyle stories and our Polyamory stories and let us know if we’re succeeding!

“Until we become the stage…” #MWTease #MFRWAuthor #PuertoRico

November 8, 2017 by Adriana Kraft

Meghan’s Playhouse, Book 3, is now available at

EXCERPT

Set Up: We set this story on a Caribbean cruise, long before Hurricane Maria. Click HERE if you’d like to donate through UNICEF.

Our foursome is on shore in Puerto Rico and have found a secluded cove…

“This is so stunningly beautiful,” April said for the umpteenth time. She rested her chin on her knees and stared out at the small bay. “The water is so blue. How did you find such an isolated spot? The ridge of rock forms its own private cove.”

“We spent most of a day exploring on an earlier cruise,” Meg responded. “This is farther than most cruise passengers are going to walk, but there are so many resorts in the area I doubt this place is as isolated as it appears.”

“The only people I’ve seen since we got here are the people on that boat out there.” April inhaled. “So carefree. The girls on the boat didn’t seem dismayed to see us walk down the beach.”

Derek chuckled. “When two women stand and wave without bothering to put on their bikini tops, I’d agree they aren’t too bothered by our presence. Their guys didn’t seem quite so eager.”

“Anyone want to take bets on how long before the bikini bottoms come off?”

April looked quickly at Clark. “They wouldn’t.”

“Modesty is not a necessarily a virtue out here.” Clark shrugged. “Maybe these girls will wait until dusk.”

“I wouldn’t count on that,” Meg interjected. “They’re not looking for privacy. They have what they want—anonymity. They can do whatever they want. They’re on the stage, and we are their audience.” She brushed the back of a warm hand along April’s shoulder. “Until we become the stage.”
