Dodging
By Lucy Felthouse

The thrum of anticipation had been rushing through my body ever since we’d set off that morning. By the time we passed the sign welcoming us to Hunstanton and made our way into the long stay car park, I was almost delirious with excitement. The worst part was, I had to hide it from my friends. As far as Sophia and Chloe were concerned, we’d just come for a nice, fun, girly day out at the seaside. They had no idea about my ulterior motive. And I didn’t intend to tell them. Until afterwards, maybe. I didn’t want to risk them ruining my master plan, or trying to talk me out of it.

So far, it seemed like everything was on our side. The traffic had been light, we’d got a parking space with no trouble, and the sun was shining. It was a perfect day, and I had every intention of putting a cherry on top of all that perfection. A very sexy cherry.

Sophia parked the car, then hopped out to go and get a parking ticket. Chloe and I got out too, stretching our limbs after being cooped up in the car for a couple of hours.

“So,” I said, tilting my head back to catch the rays of the sun on my face, “what’s the plan then?”

“I dunno,” Chloe replied. “I’ve never been here before, you have. What do you suggest?”

“Well, there’s the beach, obviously. There are amusement arcades, mini-golf, the Sealife Centre, a few shops, the old village…”

I deliberately didn’t mention the funfair. That was my destination, and I wanted to go alone.

Sophia rejoined us and put the ticket in the windscreen of the car. “Got everything, girls?”

Chloe and I nodded, and she checked for valuables before locking the doors. “So, do we know what we’re doing yet? I guess we’ll be led by you, Abigail, since you’ve been here before. Did you say you’d visited with your parents, or something?”

I moved away from the car and started to walk down towards the seafront, though purposely leading the girls in the opposite direction to the funfair. They followed without question.

I nodded. “Yeah. We used to come here all the time for family holidays when I was younger, but now we mostly come on day trips. We last came a month or so ago. I was just telling Chloe what there is to do. There’s the beach, amusement arcades, mini-golf, the Sealife Centre, a few shops, the old village…”

“Ooh,” Sophia said, doing a little jump, “I love mini-golf! Do you fancy a game of that before it gets too hot, then we’ll go from there?”

Chloe nodded her agreement, and I said, “I’ll take you there, ladies, but I can’t play.”

“Why the hell not?” Sophia asked. “It doesn’t matter if you’re crap. I’m crap at it too, it’s just a laugh.”

“No, it’s got nothing to do with being crap, Soph. I have a bad back and swinging a club around and doing all that bending is just going to make it worse.”

It was a blatant lie of course. There wasn’t a thing wrong with my back, and I was actually a little gutted not to be having a go on the best mini-golf course I’d ever played on, but missing out was a necessary evil if I was to go through with my devious plan. If it came off, then the result would be a great deal more fun than a round of mini-golf, anyway.

Anal Sex and Erotica

Okay, I read lots of erotica. Hubs and I write erotica and erotic romance together, and we include anal play in nearly every book we write. Why? Because we love it. Both of us love it.

So I am always distressed when I read scenes by other authors in which anal intercourse is portrayed as painful. There is no need, ever, for the receiving party to experience pain. If pain occurs (and if the participants aren’t seeking pain, which is another story), both participants haven’t paid enough attention to preparation and lubrication. That doesn’t sound very loving or romantic to me.

Most of the scenes I’m referring to follow the painful anal entry with exquisite pleasure, making clear the recipient believes the pain is worth it. I don’t doubt that it’s worth it – I just don’t think pain is a necessary price to pay.

So I was very pleased to see sex educator Charlie Glickman’s Blog today about recent research on anal sex and women. The study he’s discussing found that nearly half of the heterosexual women in their sample who’d experienced anal intercourse in the last year had to discontinue the experience due to pain or discomfort. Glickman goes on to suggest what follow-up questions should be asked to uncover the causes of painful anal intercourse – and, hopefully, to lead to solutions that prevent pain and increase pleasure.

The crucial ingredients to prevent pain? In my experience, attitude, education, lubrication and preparation. Did hubs and I always love it? Speaking for myself here, no. I started out with a negative attitude and didn’t even want to go there. He accepted that. But once we started using videos to spice up our bedroom encounters, I had a chance to watch others receiving anal pleasure, and my attitude shifted. We are always looking for new and exciting ways to keep our sex lives fresh and innovative.

The next step, of course, was education. We had help from two sources here and I highly recommend both of them: the Better Sex Guide to Anal Pleasure (available HERE), and Nina Hartley’s Guide to Anal Pleasure (available HERE).

Lubrication and preparation? Self explanatory, I hope. And both elements can be an extended source of sexual pleasure all by themselves, whether or not they culminate in anal penetration for either partner.

So those are the kinds of anal scenes we write in our novels – tender, caring, sensual, arousing, and explicitly exciting. We hope you enjoy them!

EXCERPT

I trailed a nail down his bicep. “I was just wondering if you had anything you had to do today or if today is just for us. You were rather vague last evening when we talked.”

“No way! No f-in’ way in f-in’ hell am I going to partake if that is what they want me to do. No way!”

Logan lay on his back, his muscular forearm now over his eyes while he listened to my rant. He’d known all along that my reaction would be exactly what he was hearing. I was also sure it was his job to convince me otherwise.

“Logan, are you listening to me?” I pushed his arm away from his face. “There is no way I’m going to be part of some of the kinky crap you’re suggesting.”

“Well love, if you refuse the agency will be forced to place an active, experienced female agent with me.” I could feel his glare as he watched my reaction closely.

“So what you’re telling me is…if I don’t learn this lifestyle and go undercover with you where we’ll partake in this crap, you’ll go undercover anyway. Only you’ll go with a female agent who is already trained in this stuff. Did I leave anything out?” I sat abruptly upright on the bed and swung my legs over the side. I was pissed.

Angry over the entire situation.

“No, you didn’t leave anything out, and yes that’s exactly what’s going to happen if you decide you’d rather not participate.”

I nervously paced the bedroom. My head was spinning and had a good idea what may come next.

“Tell me something Logan. You obviously trained for this during the time you were away. I can’t imagine you having to re-learn how to handle weapons for six weeks. So you want to tell me about this part of your training or should I just leave it up to my imagination?”

“Scarlett, you don’t know anything about this lifestyle so don’t try and imagine what is entailed. And yes, I trained with an experienced female as well as an experienced Dom.”

I felt sure he neglected to mention the fact that he had dabbled in the lifestyle prior to meeting me. I had done my research and it had been long before we ever met. It had evidently been a way for him to decompress after his missions with the SAS.
